I received a question about the temperature at the rinks last Friday. In brief we have been having some heating issues. The dressing rooms are now sorted out and they are trying to figure out the lobby/concession area.
Regarding the bleachers. Only a couple of people now control the temperature inside the Co-Op Rink and the Events Centre. This has been done to better control costs and the quality of ice; previously almost anyone could set the temperature. The heaters are turned on for the Klipper’s games depending on outside temperatures and in other cases such as minor hockey it depends on the size of the crowd.
Our ice plant is showing its age and we have been told that it is under performing. As a result we are working hard to control the ambient temperature so the ice plant isn’t stressed.
This next part isn’t meant to be a smarty pants remark but I know of people who have recently purchased heated seating cushions. Click here to check it out.
